About
Who am I? At a quick glance I may be described as “just a mom”. There have been many roads I have taken to be where I stand right now. Every road, either smooth or bumpy, have been worth the trip to end up where I am today. It may seem like I have made a huge U-TURN because I have ended up exactly where I started – at home. Although, all of my life experiences have changed me and made me who I am today- way more than “just a mom”.
Every mom has her story. Here is mine, in a nut shell.
Growing up I was an average kid. A middle child. Compared to my siblings, I was the loud one. The one that kept my parents on their toes and caused some grey hairs. I grew up in a healthy suburban household. Spent every summer at the jersey shore. As a teenager, I was a vegan/vegetarian for 8 years. Went to College. Met my future husband (art major) the first week as a freshman. Was an overachiever. Got a degree is elementary education, minor is math and special education. Magna Cum Laude. Was a regular at the local thrift shops. And the high end department stores.
Got engaged. Bought a house. Was a yoga and pilates practicer. Got married. Taught middle school english for 4 years. Got my Masters in Education. Struggled with infertility for almost 2 years. Had a miscarriage. Had a baby girl. Resigned from teaching. Breastfed for 26 months. Got pregnant and had another girl. Discovered she has multiple food allergies.
All of the roads I took have lead me to where I am now. A stay at home mom who still loves a deal (and tory burch flats), enjoys eating my greens (and vegan apple pie), loves her girls (especially when they are sleeping), and is in love with my college sweetheart (although alone time is nonexistent).
I will forewarn you that I WAS an english teacher. Somewhere in the midst of growing two humans, I forgot how to congegate my verbs…. and how to finish a complete thought.
I have a strong pull towards eating foods closes to the earth, taking vitamins, and frequenting farmer’s markets. Since I am nursing my daughter who is allergic to dairy, eggs, and peanuts, I have become a meat eating vegan (back to my roots). Just started allergy elimination acupressure.
I may seem like a contradicting mess- but I am a strong believer in moderation. And enjoying life. But I am human, I have my days.
Right now, I have an 8 month old and 3 and a half year old. I stay at home, but still love to learn and communicate with the outside world.
I decided to start this blog to have an outlet to share my thoughts and/or discoveries.
